A full-day private excursion to Delft (Neduntivu), the most remote of the inhabited Jaffna islands. The trip combines the morning ferry from Kurikadduwan with a private 4x4 tour of the island's key sites and a picnic lunch prepared by the villa kitchen.
You depart from Jaffna at approximately 6:30 a.m. to reach Kurikadduwan in time for the 8 a.m. ferry. The 50-minute crossing runs across a flat stretch of the Palk Strait. On the island, the 4x4 visits the Dutch fort ruins near the jetty, the baobab tree in the centre of the island, the coral wall, and the relocated gopuram.
The afternoon is free time: walking among the wild horses on the scrubland near the western shore, or sitting on the beach at the island's northern tip. The 2 p.m. ferry returns to Kurikadduwan and you are back in Jaffna by 4 p.m.
