A half-day private beach setup at Casuarina Beach, the white-sand beach on the western tip of Karainagar island. The villa team sets up a shaded picnic area under the casuarina trees with linen, cushions, a cooler of drinks, and a prepared lunch of fresh seafood and Jaffna accompaniments.
The setup is in place when you arrive, at approximately 10 a.m., and can be left until mid-afternoon. This is a slow day by design: the water is calm and shallow enough for swimming, the light under the casuarina trees in the morning is soft, and there are no other organised activities.
The drive to Casuarina from the villa crosses two causeways — Kayts and Karainagar — taking about 40 minutes. The return drive can be timed to catch the early afternoon or left until the light starts to drop, around 4:30 p.m.
